Playoff Predictions

By Peter Levi

The playoffs are here and its time to prognosticate.  It is remarkable this year how much homogeny there is among the pundits for who will win–almost everyone is taking the favourite, bucking the trend of recent years.  Taking it all with a grain of salt, here are my predictions:
Eastern Conference
Montreal-Boston: Montreal in 5
Pittsburgh-Ottawa: Pittsburgh in 5
Washington-Philadelphia: Philadelphia in 6
New Jersey-New York Rangers: Devils in 7

Western Conference
Detroit-Nashville: Wings in 5
San Jose-Calgary: Sharks in 6
Minnesota-Colorado: Minnesota in 6
Anaheim-Dallas: Anaheim in 6

Semi-Finals
Montreal-Philadelphia: Montreal in 6
Pittsburgh-New Jersey: Pittsburgh in 5
Detroit-Anaheim: Ducks in 6
San Jose-Minnesota: Sharks in 5

Conference Finals
Montreal-Pittsburgh: Montreal in 6
San Jose-Anaheim: Sharks in 7Finals
San Jose-Montreal: Sharks in 6

I agree with a few of your predictions. I think Ottawa will lose but win more games. I also think Pittsburg will beat Montreal in the final in the East. The west is the wild west and I can not pick winners there.
