Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Madden nominated for Selke

Detroit Red Wings forwards Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg, along with New Jersey Devils forward John Madden were nominated as finalists for the Frank J. Selke trophy, given to the NHL’s best defensive forward.

Datsyuk, who is also a Lady Byng finalist, posted 97 points on the year, but amassed an NHL-best plus-41 rating and won more than 54 percent of his faceoffs.

His teammate Zetterberg notched career-highs in goals (43), assists (49) and points (92) but also won 666 faceoffs and registered 53 takeaways.

Neither had been Selke finalists in their respective careers.
