Dallas keeps on rolling
The headline for the main article on the Dallas Stars website says it all: “Deja Vu”. Dallas began their 2nd round series the exact same way they began their 1st round series with Anaheim. Dallas is coming home with a 2-0 series lead and a chance to put a stranglehold on the series.
In game one Dallas was clearly outplayed for 45 minutes of the game. Marty Turco stole on for Dallas who reverted to their old bad habits late and tried to nurse a lead. When they allowed San Jose to tie it up late Dallas woke up. They dominated for the rest of the 3rd period along with the overtime period. Brenden Morrow ice the game early into overtime when Mike Ribeiro and Stephane Robidas force the Sharks D into a frenzy. Ribeiro spotted Morrow across the ice for a one-timer that he promptly burried.
Game 2 was entirely different. Dallas and San Jose played an even game for 40 minutes. Dallas went into the 3rd period down 2-1, but Brad Richards would have none of that. He exploded for 4 points in the final frame. Dallas picked up the game 5-2, and comes home tonight with a chance to go up 3-0. They play again tomorrow at home. Conceivably Dallas could be moving on to the Conference Finals by Wednesday. Â Â
