Sabres sign Tim Kennedy

via Buffalo News:

Michigan State University star and South Buffalo native Tim Kennedy has reached agreement on a two-year deal with the Buffalo Sabres, the team announced today.

The 5-foot-10 left winger was named an alternate captain at MSU for the 2008-09 season last week, but has decided to skip his senior season and turn pro.

Terms of Kennedy’s deal have not been disclosed. Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier is heading to Monday’s NHL GM meetings in Detroit and it’s expected that Kennedy, a Bishop Timon/St. Jude product, will be introduced Tuesday in HSBC Arena.

“We are thrilled to have a player of Tim’s caliber join the Sabres organization,” said Regier. “After three years at Michigan State, we believe this local product is ready to make the move to the professional level.”
