Ducks sign Brendan Morrison

There were lucrative offers for a longer term, but unrestricted free agent Brendan Morrison chose a one-year, $2.75-million U.S. contract from the Anaheim Ducks because it's the right fit for him and his family.

It's admirable. It's also risky.

"I'm a pretty conservative guy and I'm not very risky at all," the former Vancouver Canucks centre chuckled yesterday during a conference call. "Maybe I'm getting out of my comfort zone a bit.
