Predators suspend Radulov

via Tennessean:

The team saw to that Tuesday, suspending the 22-year-old forward indefinitely without pay for the 2008-09 season, but questions remain about his future with the Predators as well as the relationship between Russian hockey and the NHL.

The Predators never heard back from him. Radulov played his first regular-season game with Ufa on Tuesday, picking up an assist in the team’s victory.

“The letter was an effort to reach out to Rads, to show our seriousness and to point out the timing – with our training camp only a couple of weeks away,” Predators General Manager David Poile said.

“Unfortunately, he didn’t respond to our letter and we’re just doing what we said we were going to do and that’s to suspend him.

“So it is closure from the standpoint that our players realize we’re moving forward, and we don’t want this to be a distraction or an excuse. That’s really what it’s all about.”
