Bobby Ryan sent down to Iowa

via OC Register:

Salary-cap issues forced the Ducks to send top prospect Bobby Ryan down to AHL-affiliate Iowa on Friday.

The moves comes largely because of the team’s efforts to get under the NHL’s salary cap of $56.7 million. Ryan is due to make $821,700 this season and $925,000 more in potential performance bonuses.

Ryan, 21, was projected to play on the second line with newly acquired center Brendan Morrison and Teemu Selanne. He was the No.2 pick in the 2005 draft.
