Foote plays in 1,000th NHL game

Adam Foote returned to the Colorado Avalanche in time to play his 1,000th career NHL game.

The 37-year-old Foote reached the milestone after taking the ice Sunday night in the Avalanche’s 3-2 loss to the Edmonton Oilers.

Foote became the 40th active player to reach the 1,000-game plateau, and the 14th current defenseman.
