Mats Sundin a father?
via Sporting News:
“You don’t realize how tough it is to come back when guys are hitting full stride,” Schneider told SportingNews.com. “When you miss training camp, you miss the beginning of the year, it’s difficult. I don’t think that it’s a trend you’re going to see an awful lot of. We’ll see how Mats comes back — if, when, where, it’ll be interesting. It’s tough to come back into this league and play where you left off.” The Ducks are considered a favorite to land Sundin if he returns, as are the Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers and Sundin’s previous team, the Maple Leafs. The Vancouver Canucks have a two-year, $20 million offer on the table.
Schneider sees Sundin playing in the Eastern Conference, not the West.
“He’s always kind of maintained that he wanted to play in the East,” Schneider said. “I think it’s the travel. He has a young baby now, and it’s so much more difficult with the travel in the West. You just feel like you’re never at home.”
