I like this move for both teams. I don’t care about the Leafs, but Steen and Colaiacovo weren’t doing anything for this team, but they had some trade value. I think the Blues are hoping that in a new situation Steen could heat up and then Colaiacovo is a bonus if he can become healthy. That addresses their problem at center. Stempniak is a rising star in the NHL, I hope that he is able to perform in the new environment under a tough coach. Just kinda sad that Steen and Colai were top picks and now had to be packaged together to earn anything good. I understand that the Leafs weren’t all too happy with Colai’s work ethic or rehab physio effort.

Well put Shan. I think its a great deal for Colaiacovo. he deserves a fresh start and he will get a lot of playing time with the Blues this year with Johnson out.
