Burke in Toronto – Deal done by Thursday?
via Toronto Star:
Today’s visit is, ostensibly, for personal reasons, but it could just as easily turn into something professional as talks to make Burke the new hockey boss of the Maple Leafs reach the final stages.
It’s conceivable a deal could be completed in the next 24-48 hours after Burke’s lawyer and MLSE representative Gord Kirke conducted extensive and complex negotiations over the weekend.
Burke’s expected presence in town, then, might allow him to sit down with Kirke and MLSE executive Richard Peddie and finish off a deal.
via Toronto Sun:
With talks heating up between the two parties, a deal between the Leafs and Burke could very well be completed by Thursday — which is Turkey Day south of the border. In fact, there is speculation that a resolution might come as early as today or tomorrow.
A source familiar with the negotiations said significant inroads have been achieved in the talks as the sides attempt to hammer out an agreement.
