NHL teams loving Swedish free agents

via SportingNews:

Add the names Linus Klasen and Linus Videll to the list of Swedish players getting loving looks from NHL teams.

Fabian Brunnstrom was the first of the players from the Swedish Elite League to grab NHL headlines when around the All-Star break it was noted the Detroit Red Wings, Toronto Maple Leafs and Vancouver Canucks were interested and about two-thirds of the league’s teams have scouted him.

Reports surfaced Saturday that the Maple Leafs had signed Klasen, who like Brunnstrom is an undrafted free agent. The Leafs are denying the report.

Videll, who is Klasen’s teammate for Sodertalje SK, is also a free agent. He was a seventh-round pick by the Colorado Avalanche, 204th overall, in the 2003 draft.
