Lidstrom sprains right knee – out at least one week

via mLive:

Wings coach Mike Babcock said after Monday’s 4-0 victory in Colorado that captain Nicklas Lidstrom is likely to be out a week to 10 days after he sprained his right knee early in the first period.

“It doesn’t sound like it’s anything major,” Babcock said. “He’s going to be fine. I don’t know if he’s going to be out a week or 10 days or whatever, but he’s got something mild inside of his knee. I don’t know the technical terms. We needed to freshen him up anyways.”

With Lidstrom on the shelf, I can see the the Wings going after Blake now. At least Rafalski is coming back soon.
