Jackets trade Foote to Avalanche

It is being reported that that Avs have indeed made a trade to acquire Foote for a draft pick.

I have been hearing that if indeed that Jakcets couldn’t sign Foote the would be looking to deal Fedorov, Peca and possibly others because they don’t think they will be able to beat the likely of Detroit. With regards to the Avs getting Forsberg and now Foote can the Avs really make a push for the cup?

UPDATE:

The Avs will give up a conditional is either 08 or 09, if avs make playoffs, its 1st in 08, if not 09 and if foote is resigned in summer another pick goes to CBJ.
